JAGDHOF WINE DAYS 2020.5: SIMPLY RED

The Jagdhof in Stubai, Austria, sets new standards in the world of wine. From 19-22 March, owners Armin and Alban Pfurtscheller and sommelier Albin Mayr welcome established and aspiring wine connoisseurs to the Jagdhof Wine Days 2020.5. Attendees are invited to bring one bottle of red wine to the Best Bottle evening on the first day for a blind tasting and judging session. The wine with the most points wins and its donor will receive a voucher for a night at the Jagdhof.

France and Italy battle it out at the Jagdhof Wine Days 2020.5

Day two brings the experts into play, with sommeliers and an award-winning chef. Wine expert Elke Drescher presents selected Bordeaux vintages (1975-2000) from notable wineries in the Pomerol region, complemented by the perfect 5-course menu courtesy of Chef Boris Meyer (recently awarded 4 toques by Gault&Millau Austria).

Day three belongs to Italy, as Tuscany fights its corner with Masseto, a ‘Super Tuscan’ from the famous Ornellaia cellar. Don’t miss the opportunity to try this fine wine, which has been delighting international critics for years. Peter Morandell, the ‘Pope of wine’, will share his insider knowledge of vintages from 1992-2014. Sniff, taste and compare; by the end of the Jagdhof Wine Days 2020.5, your ‘wine nose’ will have improved considerably.
