Winter magic in the Alpbach Valley
The 4-star Pirchner Hof Hotel & Farm is nestled amidst snow-covered mountains in Reith in the Alpbach Valley and welcomes guests with warm hospitality and friendly Tyrolean service. Its panoramic position right at the heart of the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau is quite simply magical and offers guests the ideal base for exploring the winter sports arena. The 76 spacious rooms and suites, each with their own balcony, boast expansive views from peak to peak. Christa and Wolfgang Peer are the second family generation to run the hotel since its opening in 1977 and they do so with pride and charm. The Pirchner Hof is the first dedicated Hildegard von Bingen hotel – her holistic philosophies are reflected wherever you look: in the Spa concept, in the cuisine and in the Life Energy Garden.
A winter sports gem
The Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau is a true jewel in the crown of the Kitzbühel Alps. A breathtakingly idyllic kingdom of snow and a first-class ski resort, this winter playground is one of Austria’s most attractive destinations for winter sports enthusiasts. With 109km of perfectly groomed pistes – including a variety of blue, red and challenging black runs – 45 state-of-the-art ski lifts and diverse freeride zones, this ski resort appeals to beginners and pros, young and old. Choose from skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, ski touring, winter hiking or all of the above, and then stop for a rest and a bite to eat at one of the 25 cosy ski huts and mountain-top restaurants. This ski resort has so much to offer, you won’t want to leave!
Even away from the slopes, the snow-covered mountains surrounding the Pirchner Hof offer a world of winter activities for the whole family. The ski resort boasts eight toboggan runs – including illuminated night runs – the Alpbachtal Lauser Sauser Alpine coaster, ice skating at the Reintaler See, and horse-drawn sleigh rides to boot. If you still have energy to burn, make the most of the Pirchner Hof’s exercise and regeneration programme with host Wolfgang Peer. From Aqua Fit and ‘smovey’ training to Yoga and back exercises, the fun never stops.
A world of wellbeing
After a long day carving up the slopes, finally relax in the Pirchner Hof’s spacious spa facilities. In harmony with Hildegard von Bingen’s philosophies, the nurturing health and spa area is based on the four elements (fire, water, earth and air) and offers guests a world of wellbeing surrounded by the winter wonderland of the Alpbach Valley. Feel the heat in one of the saunas, swim a few lengths in the indoor pools or take a dip in the heated outdoor pool, then treat yourself to a special Pirchner Hof naturopathic treatment developed to help you to slow down, detox and find clarity.
A health kick to enjoy
Food at the Pirchner Hof is always wholesome. Energy-rich, regional and seasonal produce – preferably from the hotel’s own farm and garden or local producers – forms the basis for creative dishes with gentle healing powers. ‘The better the ingredients, the more active, satisfied and balanced we feel,’ says experienced chef Dusko Petrovic. The Hildegard diet is all about balance and quality. ‘Of course, our cooking is based on Hildegard von Bingen’s nutritional teachings, and dishes at the buffet or in the menu are marked accordingly. Hildegard classified food as ‘warming’, ‘cooling’, ‘drying’, ‘moistening’ or ‘cheering’ – in the colder season, we naturally tend towards warming and cheering dishes.’
