Morocco’s most beautiful golf course, Golf de Mogador, enjoys a unique 300-hectare location in Diabet, a small village on the Atlantic coast just 3km from Essaouira’s historic Medina. The coastal setting provides a year-round temperate climate with cooling sea breezes, making golfing a pleasure even during the hot summer months.
Created by the ‘Black Knight’ – golfing legend and gifted course designer Gary Player – Golf de Mogador offers a total of 31 holes over two courses: The North course is an 18-hole, par 72 championship course opened in 2009; the second South course followed in 2015 and offers 13 holes. Golf de Mogador’s environmentally-friendly design is harmoniously integrated in the landscape between sea and sand dunes, juniper bushes, palm trees and eucalyptus forest. The extensive fairways, well-kept greens, challenging bunkers and exceptional environment provide a sporting challenge for beginners and pros alike – spectacular views included.
Golfers are supported by an experienced, multilingual pro team at the Mogador Golf Academy under the direction of Benoit Willemart, inventor of the ‘Square & Swing’ method. Practice facilities include a driving range with covered and open tees, putting, pitching and chipping greens and practice bunkers. The Club House offers a relaxed atmosphere, a pro shop, comfortable lounge and restaurant with stunning views over the courses from the spacious terrace.
Golf de Mogador is rated amongst Morocco’s 10 best golf courses by Leading Courses, Europe’s largest golf course review site.
