AUTHENTIC AYURVEDA IN THE ALPS
The expert team at the Ayurveda Resort Sonnhof took the ancient Indian teachings of Ayurveda, adapted it to our western needs and brought it to Europe! The methods are constantly evolving and improving to keep up with our busy western lifestyles.
Quality and professionalism are important aspects and can be assured, thanks to the resort’s new online campus for employees. During the course of their training and professional development, every member of staff studies a range of modules and experiences both the theory and practice of European Ayurveda®.
EUROPEAN AYURVEDIC CUISINE
European Ayurvedic cuisine is a vital component of European Ayurveda®. A requirement of Ayurvedic nutrition is that staple foods are locally grown. Our bodies are familiar with the foods and herbs grown in Europe – the active ingredients suit European living conditions. To ensure that Ayurvedic nutrition is gently and easily processed by our European bodies, European Ayurveda® has developed its own recipes using local foods and herbs whose effects correspond with the Ayurvedic originals.
FARM TO TABLE
In 2016 the resort acquired the Lindhof farm, allowing them to embark into the world of agriculture in the spirit of sustainability and European Ayurveda®. This is how they combine their Tyrolean roots with the Vedic, and harmonise Tyrolean traditions with those of the Indian subcontinent. Both are linked by a credo: the preservation, development and teachings of the ‘science of life’. So guests enjoy vegetables, fruit and honey fresh from the Lindhof, which are then prepared using the wholesome recipes of European Ayurvedic cuisine.
