Discover the Christmas spirit
FESTIVE FUN FOR EVERYONE
The smell of spiced Christmas biscuits, the sound of carollers singing, the feel of snowflakes drifting down from the sky, the sight of glittering lights – a visit to the Christmas market in Kitzbühel this winter is a delight for all the senses. Torchlit walks through Kitzbühel’s snow-dusted streets and festive concerts and readings will get everyone in the Christmas spirit. Browse the wooden chalet stalls to discover traditional crafts and handmade Christmas decorations, or try some of the delicious local food and drink specialties which you can only find in the Tyrol at Christmas time.
Kitzbühel’s Christmas market is full of fun for younger visitors too, with storytelling sessions at the Kitzbühel Museum and nativity plays to keep the kids entertained, as well as a Children’s Advent calendar competition, campfire evenings and a petting zoo with pony rides through the snow. There’s also a visit from St Nicholas on 6 December with sweet gifts – but only if you’ve been well-behaved little girls and boys!
Join in the Himmlischer Advent (Heavenly Advent), where the finish line of Kitzbühel’s legendary Hahnenkamm ski racecourse at the Hotel Rasmushof is transformed into a winter wonderland. Over 40 fir trees are decorated with glittering ornaments for a Christmas scene that will take your breath away. Or meet the locals at the Jochberg Mountain Advent, where residents open their houses each evening from 4pm – 6pm from 1 – 23 December. Guests are welcomed inside to chat to the residents and learn more about the Christmas traditions that make Kitzbühel such a special place to spend the festive season.
